This is the
one child in the entire pageant with the highest total score in Charm.
Charm: (1 Title & 2 Runners-Up per age division)
All
contestants are required to compete in the Charm competition which consists of
three parts; Party Dress, Fun Fashion, and Judges Visit. We supply the music for the stage
events. The clothing itself is not scored. Make-up
may not be used.
Formal Wear: For
Girls: Any style party, Sunday
best, or pageant dress; knee length or above.
For Boys: Shirt with tie, suit or tuxedo. Judges are
looking for the baby who enjoys being on stage, has a wonderful personality,
and clothes that fit well and are complimentary. Each baby will be scored on over-all
impression, personality, and stage presence.
◊Fun Fashion: A casual outfit that is fun
and quirky is perfect for this competition.
It should reflect current trends
in an age appropriate way. Anything that
your child would normally wear, pumped up with personality, is what we are looking for. Eye catching items that are FUN and is what
we want. Adding a hat, jacket, sunglasses,
or other accessories add to this category.
(Sorry, no swim suits.) Areas of
scoring include stage presence, personality, fit and look of outfit, over-all
impression.
◊Judges Visit :
Each contestant will come in front of the judges for individual
interaction. The judges will talk to
your baby and make an up-close evaluation.
The children will wear a nice everyday outfit. This outfit should not have glitz or
bling. The length of the visit is about
1 minute for each child. The scores will
be based on personality and response to the judges; the “Adorable Factor.”
Mini Titles—We
call these minis because they take a minimum
amount of work on your end! They are
crowned titles that are judged during other competitions. They do not require additional wardrobe or
practice. Easy!
Personality Plus: (1 per pageant) Scored during all phases of
Charm competition, the judges are looking for an engaging personality on stage
and a fun judges visit; the baby who lights up the room!
Fabulous Face: (1 per pageant) Scored during the judges
visit. The judges are looking for the child
whose looks typify babies. (Think Gerber
Baby!) It is not the most glamorous looking child, but rather, uniqueness, cuteness, the darling “baby”-next-door,
that they will be looking for.
Picture Perfect: (1 per age division) Our Photogenic
Competition—Pictures can be black & white or color and can range in size
from 4x6 to 8x10; up to 5 pictures per contestant. They must be at our office 7 days prior to
the pageant. Please label them on the
back with your child’s name and age division and slip each one into a plastic
page sleeve for protection. These will
be judged by a professional photographer, so please indicate the photographer
for each shot, so we do not use that particular person as a judge.
JiFFee Awards—Just
For Fun or JiFFees are fun awards that give your baby a chance to win another
prize at our pageant.
