FAQ
These are questions that have been asked as we've been out promoting our wonderful program. We hope the answers will help you as well!
A: Our program gives children to opportunity to grow in many ways: Confidence, the ability to speak in a public setting, improved performing talents, new friends, sportsmanship.
A: Not at all! Although we are attracting children who have competed before, our program was developed for every girl who wants the opportunity to perform on stage. We provide at least one free workshop prior each preliminary competition for girls to learn and practice what they will be doing on pageant day. During the pageant the judges look at each child individually giving positive, helpful comments that reinforce and help your child to improve.
A: No, no, no! We all love those pageant dresses and you may see some of them at our pageants, but it is absolutely not necessary to spend thousands of dollars. We do not score clothing. Find a pretty party-style dress for your daughter and put her in it! (Baby boys can wear a shirt & tie, suit or a little tuxedo.) If you want a pageant dress, there are many places on-line that sell them inexpensively. Call or e-mail us for some sites we know about.
A: The morning starts with registration where you turn in your back-up music for Show Stopper (talent), and your child is given a competition number. Babies compete in formal wear & fun fashion while the Darling Miss contestants are in interview. The babies have their awards ceremony while the girls and their judges take a little break. Babies are free to leave after their awards. (About 2 hours) Darling Miss stage competition begins with Fun Fashion, then Party Dress. Finally we end the pageant with Show Stopper, our talent competition. There is a break and then the Crownings. We give over 25 titles during the entire day. If your daughter wins, please plan to stay after for a few minutes. Everyone can pick up their scores and comments as they leave. Plan to spend about 6 hours or so with us.
A: NO. Every child must compete in the Charm category which consists of Party Dress/Formal Wear, Fun Fashion and Interview (for the Miss.) All other competition and award categories are optional. However...In order to win the over-all title of Darling Miss, girls must compete in Charm and Show Stopper.
A: Over the years in pageantry we have seen a wonderful array of talents offered including: monologues, magic, poetry, martial arts, gymnastics, hula-hoops, poi balls, jump ropes, and various instruments. Basically anything entertaining that can be done on-stage can be a Show Stopper. (Please no fire, swords or animals!)
A: In every age division (Mini, Little, Petite, Young & Teen) we crown a Miss Charm (5), Miss Show Stopper (5), Miss Picture Perfect (5). We also give a minimum of two Fabulous Face and two Personality Plus titles at each preliminary. Each of these receives a beautiful silver plated Austrian crystal crown, embroidered sash and trophy. For Babies the titles are Teeny Charm (1), Tiny Charm(1), Tot Charm (1), Picture Perfect (3), Fabulous Face (1) and Personality Plus (1)
A: Congratulations! She will have a fun year riding in parades, going to parties and performing at other preliminary pageants. In June she will represent her title at the fabulous Nevada State Pageant. A portion of her entry fee to the state pageant is paid as part of her prize.
Important: Please make sure she is gracious and considerate of those who did not win this time.
A: First of all and most important, Praise Her Efforts! Her attitude will absolutely depend on yours. She will receive a gift or award from us for participating. Make sure she congratulates the winners. Later on when the time is right ask her what she thought she did really well and the areas where she might improve. Encourage her to try again. It is so important for children to understand that even when they do their best, it doesn't always work out. The winning is truly in the continued effort. This is a life-lesson she will appreciate as she grows.
A: Yes! The more categories you enter, the greater the discount. We also give discounts for siblings competing in the same pageant and for referring friends.
